Which to choose
- Price tier — the headline difference. The ECM Synchronika sits a tier up (premium) from the Rocket Appartamento (prosumer) — you pay more for the spec advantages below. Tiers are price bands; confirm the live price at the retailer.
- Boiler — the deciding spec. The ECM Synchronika uses a dual boiler and the Rocket Appartamento a heat exchanger (hx). Separate boilers for brew and steam, each independently temperature-controlled. The most stable, most flexible architecture — and the most expensive. A single boiler kept at steam temperature with a heat-exchanger tube drawing brew water through it — so you can pull a shot and steam milk at the same time. The prosumer sweet spot. This drives most of the milk-drink workflow and price difference between them.
- Temperature. The ECM Synchronika has PID temperature control (steadier shot-to-shot consistency); the Rocket Appartamento does not.
- Who each suits. The Appartamento is also a good fit if your counter space is tight.
Which one should you buy?
- Pick the ECM Synchronika if you want PID temperature control for shot-to-shot consistency.
- Pick the Rocket Appartamento if you want the lower price band (prosumer rather than premium); or if your counter space is tight.
Common questions
Is the ECM Synchronika worth the step up from the Rocket Appartamento?
Stepping up from prosumer to premium buys you a dual boiler instead of a heat exchanger (hx), PID temperature control. Worth it if you brew milk drinks daily or chase consistency; not if you mostly pull straight espresso. Tiers are price bands — confirm the live price at the retailer before deciding.
