Primary-source rechecks: Ascaso Steel Duo PID: heating system
Which to choose
- Heating system — the deciding spec. The Ascaso Steel Duo PID uses a dual thermoblock system and the Rocket Appartamento a heat exchanger (hx) system. Two independent thermoblocks heat coffee water and steam separately, so the machine can brew and steam simultaneously without being a dual-boiler machine. A single boiler kept at steam temperature with a heat-exchanger tube drawing brew water through it — so you can pull a shot and steam milk at the same time. The prosumer sweet spot. This drives most of the milk-drink workflow and price difference between them.
- Temperature. The Ascaso Steel Duo PID has PID temperature control (steadier shot-to-shot consistency); the Rocket Appartamento does not.
Which one should you buy?
- Pick the Ascaso Steel Duo PID if you want PID temperature control for shot-to-shot consistency.
